Artist/Owner: Susan Ward
Crabapple Creations was started in 1996 by Susan Ward while living in Batavia, Illinois. The name Crabapple Creations came from a combination of Susan's "creations" and our Batavia address on Crabapple Court. Susan has been painting for more than thirty years. It was her Great Grandmother who introduced her to painting. Back then Susan's focus was painting ceramic, plaster and porcelain figurines, primarily as a hobby. Friends and family often requested her work for birthdays and Christmas and pretty soon her work could be found throughout each family member's homes. But it wasn't until around 1996 that Susan began to experiment with painting on wood. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Susan turned her hobby and passion into Crabapple Creations. She continues to enjoy her work and enjoys seeing people's reactions to the incredible detail and depth of work. We hope that you can make it out to one of Susan's shows (above) to see, up close and personal, her work.
